Book Week

During Week 7 the library sponsored Book Week.  This was a celebration of literacy and the joy of books.  Students were encouraged to read at every opportunity and to try reading books that they would normally not pick up.  There were literacy based activities happening in classrooms that encouraged reading and motivated students to take part in the fun.  Special guest readers in the library each day attracted crowds of students who enjoyed the chance to sit back and listen to a good story.  The whole staff took turns each day, during what would have been our fitness time, to read to the students.  This was one of the weeks highlights for both staff and students.  Contests for the best book poster, book cover, book mark, poem and story were well supported with a very high standard of work turned in for judging.  Well done to those students who took part and especially to those who took the prizes.
